Hundreds of inspirational, talented and hard-working students were awarded to cap off a stunning year for their school.
The King Alfred School Academy (TKASA) celebrated the achievements of their students in a glittering ceremony.
They were commended for academic excellence, music, sport, performing arts, charity and helping the community.
Former student Mike Westlake gave a talk on his journey to become an international global strategist on education for a San Francisco based tech company. He is now a trustee at The Priory Learning Trust (TPLT).
The awards event capped off an amazing year in which the high-flying academy became the most improved secondary school in Somerset, with superb GCSE results and performance progress measures, and even had a visit from the Prime Minister.
They also set up Britain’s first school-based scout group which has over 100 student members, and have had huge site improvements.
The Academy is one of the fastest improving schools in the south west and led by TPLT.
Principal Nathan Jenkins said: “We celebrated the students for their amazing achievements. They have worked so hard and inspired us all in so many ways.”
