Student Services

As a very supportive sixth form with a holistic and nurturing approach we endeavour to offer a range of student services so all our students feel safe and can thrive in their two years with us. On entry into the sixth form, students automatically become members of the NUS (National Union of Students), a membership paid for by the school, which allows students access to a range of products and venues at a reduced cost.

Our student careers service offers independent advice and guidance; students can book an appointment at any time. Additionally, the learning hub houses a range of university prospectuses, books and careers magazines. Students also receive one-to-one mentoring from their tutors that cover careers, academic progress and health and wellbeing.

We have a particular focus on student health and wellbeing with an emphasis on building resilience in our young people. Our PSHE programme covers healthy eating and healthy lifestyles, dealing with stress and nurturing resilience. We also have a free counselling service, access to a student personal advisor and a weekly drop-in for students to discuss any personal issues.

The sixth form runs a bursary programme that prioritises students from low income households and we also subsidise a netbook/tablet scheme so all our students have access to their own personal IT device that facilitates their independent learning.

Finally, we have a full-time study-support coordinator who offers personal tutorials on study skills.
