The Student Experience
Our 6th Form is founded on high aspirations, excellent academic results and an outstanding enriched curriculum. Sixth form students are regarded as young adults and they are terrific role models for the younger community: they lead the Student Union and act as ambassadors for the whole school. We have a holistic approach in the sixth form and students benefit from a wide variety of experiences.
These include:
6th Form Freshers’ Week: students join or set up a range of societies and clubs that complement and enrich their studies: e.g. Oxbridge Society, Medics Society, Law Society, Psychology Society, Model UN, Human Evolution Society, Debating Society, Music Club, Film Club…
Competing in national competitions such as Young Enterprise, the ESU Schools’ Mace debate or the Bar National Mock Trial
Participating in 6th Form Question Time with our local MP and parliamentary candidates of opposition parties
Work experience, voluntary work and mentoring younger students
Participating in expeditions and international visits
Completing voluntary work in the community
Visiting universities to conduct independent research for the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)
Visiting careers fairs and university open days to ensure career progression
