The King Alfred School Academy students won medals for a range of amazing achievements at the 73rd annual Highbridge Festival Of The Arts.

They were part of the festival’s 2,300 performances, across music, speech, drama and dance.

Principal Nathan Jenkins praised them for their achievements after meeting them with their medals and certificates. He said: “We are so proud of them all. We have some hugely talented students across the school and they relished the opportunity to show the whole community at this poplar festival.”

In the first week, Drama students picked up six prizes across three classes. This was followed by the school’s talented musicians gaining an impressive 30 prizes across 25 categories. Special mention must go to Jack Richardson who, in addition to picking up 4 medals, won the highly competitive Dorothy Reaney Award.

Many of our prize winners were entering the festival for the first time.
