An inspirational The King Alfred School Academy student has achieved the rare prestigious Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award.
Lottie Leader, 17, completed challenging tasks over four years to achieve the award. She also took part in four skill areas – voluntary, skills, physical, and an expedition.
As an active member of Burnham RNLI - carrying a pager to respond to call outs - she also help fundraising for the organisation.
For her physical activity, she competed in taekwondo, and also took part in a four-day expedition in Exmoor and Dartmoor. Lottie now plans a career in nursing, after covering health and safety during her course.
Head of Sixth Form Jonathan Gaskell said: “The Duke of Edinburgh Gold award is a prestigious accolade, and Lottie has demonstrated huge attitude, character and resilience to achieve it.” TKASA sixth form is a high-achieving school-based sixth form.
