The King Alfred School Academy will become the new home for Burnbridge Wanderers in a unique partnership with hundreds of children, parents, grandparents and the community.

Burnbridge Wanderers will now have excellent pitches, an astroturf, as well have changing rooms, toilets, conferencing and meeting rooms, and potentially food facilities.

And the move will also allow many families to walk or cycle to the home fixtures for the first time.

Ben Adams, chairman of Burnbridge Wanderers, said “The club are delighted to start what we hope will be a long term partnership with the school from the 2019-2020 season.

“The school is helping to facilitate our younger age groups playing here every weekend. Without the school’s support, these players could have had nowhere to play football this season.”

Principal Nathan Jenkins said: “This is wonderful news for the school, football club and entire community of Highbridge and Burnham. We are a true community school and believe in partnership for the benefit of everyone.”
